Emergency and Disaster Services
The Canadian Red Cross may provide emergency and disaster services in partnership with first responders, emergency managers, public officials, and in collaboration with other voluntary sector organizations. These services may include emergency lodging, reception and information, emergency food, emergency clothing, personal services and family reunification. If you have been affected by a personal disaster, such as a house fire, contact us at 1-800-850-5090.

Friendly Visiting
The Canadian Red Cross Friendly Visiting Program aims to help seniors stay in their homes longer by reducing isolation and increasing their health and safety. Friendly Visiting is one-on-one, personal visits by a trained Red Cross volunteer for an hour, at least once every two weeks, for seniors who find it difficult to leave their homes. Companionship is the key – depending on their interests, the pair may chat, play a game, do a craft or discuss the news.
NOTE: Service currently on hold due to Covid-19
Student Nutrition Program
In partnership with schools and community and corporate partners, Red Cross supports school-based student nutrition programs that boost the physical, social and academic development of students by providing equal access to nutritious food. Programs are universal and must adhere to the Nutrition Guidelines set out by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Programming runs 3-5 days per week and can include breakfast (3 food groups) or snacks (2 food groups).
Meals on Wheels
No one should go hungry
The Meals on Wheels program delivers affordable, nutritious and delicious meals to members of the community who are unable to prepare their own food. Meals on Wheels helps people continue living independently while maintaining a healthy diet.
